With the demise of sulphuric acid for burning off haulm and the increasing cost of desiccant chemicals, the need to reduce the overall cost of potato haulm desiccation is paramount. Due to this reason, we have designed the Trinity 6000- the most developed 6 row hydraulic folding haulm topper on the market today.

10 good reasons to buy the most developed 6 row haulm topper on the market today:

  • Reduced running costs–competitively priced wearing parts and quick change flails for reduced down time
  • Heavily up rated stub axles, wheel bearings and tyres
  • Improved range of cutting height due to superior screw jacks
  • Standardised rotors for the three topper units which can be reversed in case of a damaged drive keyway
  • Rotors feature heavy duty bearings
  • Greater variation in flail length to allow better flailing in row bottoms and also flat blades across the row top for maximum suction
  • Category 2 linkage on front unit and Category 3 linkage on rear unit
  • Latest sprayer system from Team Sprayers with optional 600l front mounted tank to double spraying capacity
  • Shear plates to assist fine chopping of haulm with choice of single row or full bed width deflectors
  • British built to the highest level

The Trinity 6000 haulm topper consists of one front linkage mounted topper with two additional topper units attached to a rear mounted hydraulically folding tool bar. This system is designed to work on bed widths varying from 1.7 meters up to 2 metres. The flails come in 3 different lengths and give all common row configurations. The standard specification is as follows:

Flails and Shear Plates

In order to finely chop the haulm, each blade cuts against a static shear plate made out of steel or a hard wearing polypropylene for weight saving. This improves the suction and drastically improves the spreading of the haulm to offer an improved opportunity of a cleaner stem/ target area for spraying. The flails are located in threes via a single quick release pin to rapidly decrease replacement time

Front and Rear Units

All three topper units use a standard rotor and are wide enough to allow flailing of the adjacent rows which ensures that no haulm is missed or rolled down by the tractor wheels. The rear units fold vertically to bring the whole machine within the legal width for transport

Height Control and Floating System

The topper units are mounted from the main 3 point lift frames via a sprung loaded parallel link. This system allows each topper to freely move up and down over varying contours and in each field of work. The flailing height is ultimately controlled with 6 quickly adjustable depth wheels mounted in pairs on each topper unit

Drive System

Drive to each unit is by PTO shafts, gearboxes and V belts. Each unit has an over-run clutch to allow the rotors to slow down at the correct speed

Optional (Team) Sprayer Units

A complete sprayer system can be fitted for the application of a haulm desiccant. This can be supplied with either a basic 600 litre rear mounted tank or (at extra cost) an additional 600 litre tank can be mounted over the top of the front unit which doubles the spraying capacity
